DASH Magazine Launch Party Video is now out. Can't believe that only two weeks ago I was still there....

MADE AND IMOGEN BELFIELD COLLABORATION

Thursday I also went to preview the new Made collection in collaboration with Imogen Belfield. Made creates hand-made jewelry and leather goods in their workshop in Kenya. They operate under ethical and fair-trade principles which I appreciate. Imogen Belfield creates jewellery sculptures for the body, in precious metals, bronze, porcelain and gem stones. 

The collaboration collection was beautiful and I wish I could have taken all the pieces home with me!

LEWIS & LEIGH MENSWEAR PRESS DAY

Today I went to LEWIS & LEIGH MENSWEAR PRESS DAY.

They hosted a live photo shoot - showcasing menswear designers such as Oscar Quiroz, Beau Homme and Steve Corcoran, Florian Wowretzko and Massimo Casagrande. You could style your own outfit and they would take a professional photo of it. FUN!

PAST WEEKS

A lot has happened in the past two weeks...
The new issue of Dash Magazine arrived and we had to carry quite a lot of boxes to the office (as you can see them in the van). The new issue looks amazing - and my name is in it! Feels gooood.

It is september already (does not feel like September though, cause it is still so hot - today it was almost 30 degrees!) and our school started on Monday. I will go back to Finland in two and a half weeks so hopefully I won't be left behind :) I was talking with my friend on Skype this evening and it made me even more homesick!

After such a hot, hot summer it will be lovely to be able to wear my knits and boots and coats when I go back home! Should not complain though, I love summer and I have enjoyed the weather a lot during my stay. Where is the rainy and cold summer that everybody was talking about?

Next week will be exciting as well since we have the launch party of the new issue and London Fashion Week starts on Friday. And then my internship at DASH is coming to an end... how does the time go so fast?

ONLINE PORTFOLIO

Today at work I was running around like crazy and sending out e-mails, the whole day! I was in contact with people from Fashion Monitor (  leading provider of contacts, news and events within the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industries) and the girl I was e-mailing with turned out to be Finnish as well! 

She said to me: If you work in the industry as a freelancer etc feel free to send me your details and I’ll add them on.

How nice was that? So it got me thinking. 

And that is why today I created my self an online portolio/website at Portfoliobox.

Online portfolios aren’t just for certain fields or industries anymore but of course it is more common in Art, Design, Fashion etc. The importance of having a professional online presence is more important than ever, and an online portfolio will certainly increase your visibility and presence. This evening me and my intern friend Annie (in the picture) went to The Door - fashion business management champagne reception launch Party in Shoreditch.
